Counterpoint has recently released a feature that allows tips to be processed on credit card transactions.
Considerations
Before implementing tip processing, you must meet the following software and hardware requirements:
- Counterpoint Version 8.5.5+
- Process cards using NCR Secure Pay and an EMV payment terminal
When you consider implementing tips, there are a few things you will want to decide:
- Which payment terminals should prompt for tips?
- What percentages (up to 3 percentages) do you want to prompt for?
- Can the customer choose another amount?
- Can the Counterpoint user see the amount that was tipped?
- What account should the tips go into?
Implementing Tips
Once you have determined that you want to accept tips on cards and have answers to the questions above, please contact Counterpoint support by calling 877-809-9980 or emailing [email protected].
