Counterpoint and Windows 11 – DO NOT UPGRADE

Microsoft has recently released Windows 11, their newest offering for PC Operating Systems. Often, people think that it is a good idea to upgrade to the latest and greatest software, but that is not recommended for stations running Counterpoint.NCR goes through a testing process to certify Counterpoint to work with Windows operating systems, and as of November 2021, NCR has not yet certified Windows 11.

Why Shouldn’t I Update Windows?

There are a few reasons not to upgrade:

No guarantee that Counterpoint functions will open correctly (e.g., Reports or Custom functions)
If Counterpoint errors occur and NCR support is required, they might deny assistance because Windows 11 is not yet certified
Your PCI Compliance might be affected by using a non-certified operating system
